May 25, 2010 07:18 by mouseflow

Understand how visitors interact with your links

Today we're announcing a new feature at Mouseflow.com, Link analytics, that lets you analyze each link on your pages with nine analysis figures including clicks, hovers (roll-overs) and hover-to-click rate. So now you can analyze the effectiveness of your links and see if users abandon the link or hesitate before clicking.

A part of the heatmap visualization

The link analytics is available in the click and movement heatmaps and is visualized with a white bar underneath every link that shows the primary analysis figure. Roll over and see the rest of the figures.

The nine analyses

The link analytics feature offers nine figures to analyse your links:

Clicks Shows the number of clicks the links has got in the selected period.
Hovers Shows the number of time the link has been rolled over by the mouse.
Hover-to-click rate Shows the percentage of hovers that have been converted into a click. This figure can be used to rate the effectiveness of the link.
Hover-to-click time Shows how long time passes between a hover and a click.
Hover time Shows the average amout of time the mouse is over the link.
Hover order A number showing in what order the link was hovered.
Clicking visitors Shows how many visitors that have clicked the link.
Time before hover Shows the average amount of time that passes before the link is hovered.
Time before click Shows the average amount of time that passes before the link is clicked.

Try the feature right now on your account.

Link analytics is available for all subscriptions.

Wow!

Do you guys just copy every one of clicktale's features or do you actually try to come up with some of your own?

Talk about originality!

Corey Creed

I've been using Mouseflow for a few weeks now and the data has been incredibly useful.  I've been meeting with my developer and designer every week now and am making changes based on the way I see people using our site.  This service has been fantastic and I look forward to letting others know about it.

Way to go on the new feature and on having made a fantastic and cheaper alternative to the other more expensive options out there.  Thanks again.
